How to leave what I stole?

I keep failing the "Cult of Arcwoodle" quest where you put the wagons on the rooftops because the wagons rush at the buildings, destroying them.

Hold CTRL, then right-click once (don't hold down), and click again over the roof.
The van slowly lowers onto the roof.

ArThes08 the same problem, it didn't help, the car flew off anywhere, or destroyed the building, passed, so - let go of the control, and while flying over the building, pressed the right mouse button, then it worked
