ALL TIPS FOR BEGINNERS IN ONE TOPIC

Well, since every new player in DS2 has the same questions, and he, in turn, is in a hurry to ask them, I decided to create this modest topic. I hope the advice here will be proven and certainly not from beginners. Dear Veterans and Elite! Let's help our little brothers! I propose to leave here your wishes for beginners, tips for pumping, reflections on the most difficult situations in the game and other thoughts on this topic. Also, I think that it is here that it will be necessary to recall the most common bugs in the game. From myself I will print what I remember ...

1) You can start playing for any character you like. A two-handed warrior, a two-sword warrior, a combat mage, a natural mage or a ranger - it doesn't matter. In this game, the main word is PARTY, not ONE. A lone hero with a 99% probability will not be able to complete the game, so you need to plan in advance who to take into the party and who not. For example, if you play as a warrior, then you just need to get a healer into the party (Taar, for example), and if you play as a combat mage, then you can’t do without a contact (Lothar).

2) Ideal parties are those with at least 1 Warrior, 1 Archer, 1 Battle Mage and 1 Nature Mage. Such a party can be created no later than Act 2 in the worst case. The party can first grow up to 5 people (after beating the game on a mercenary), and then up to 6 people (after the veteran).

3) Advice for mages - plan your spell book carefully. The 2 spells in the autocast column will be cast automatically. Active spells will be highlighted on the corresponding bar in the corner of the screen. Naturebenders can master the Heal spell, which speeds up the withdrawal of a character from the state of "UNCONSCIOUS" and simply heals him, as well as Resurrection, which raises a dead party member. WITH INSUFFICIENT SKILL of nature magic, you can use the scroll of resurrection or the Necromancers Guild (a character in the city with a symbol of a gravestone above his head).

4) In the game, not all teams have their own hot keys. I recommend setting keyboard shortcuts for party orders such as WAIT and GUARD. The game also has the option of auto-attack and auto-defense of the character (options menu) - a very useful thing.

5) Newbies! Download skills exclusively for the required POWERS, and not up to the ceiling of 20 skill points. In the future, there will be things +X to all skills of a certain direction, which will raise the skills to the required level. In this game, unlike Diablo 2, you can't go above the 20 skill cap, so don't expect to have a level 50 Dodge here, for example.

6) The game has a lot of secret locations, which you can not get into right away. Very often, the Secret Area opens when you press a certain button or switch. Be careful and press everything that is pressed. On the terrain map, interactive objects (objects, switches, buttons) are marked with blue dots. Press Tab frequently.

7) The order of the characters in the group can be changed by holding the left mouse button on the character's portrait and dragging it up or down. This is necessary for the correct positioning of the characters in the group (warriors in front, magicians in the back). The distance at which the group members stand can be adjusted using the "[" and "]" keys.

8) There are special quests that can be obtained by having a certain member in the party and performing the necessary actions. Most often, these quests open up new locations. At the end of the quests, as always, small rewards await.

9) In the game you can find blue round pavilions, as well as yellow bookends. These books, so-called Chants, can be viewed in the journal, column LORE, subsection CHANTS. If you stand in a round gazebo (Incantation Shrine) and click on RECITE CHANT in the CHANTS subsection, you can get some bonuses for a given period of time. These enchants can also summon dangerous creatures, create random items, and in the worst case, kill the player's entire party (magrum erupto). Be careful! By the way, these enchants can also be entered from the keyboard, but for this you need to have them in your journal anyway. To talk to the dead, you need to complete the DARK OHM quest in Act 2, then cast the vox mortem chant on any Incantation Shrine and you will be able to communicate with the spirits for 300 seconds.

9) Pets, they are domestic animals (yes, pets :) ) are much weaker than well-pumped analogues among characters. They should be taken only for the purposes of "doing nothing" or "and I went through the whole game with only pets." True, a well-packed party will deal with monsters 2-5 times faster, but this is all for an amateur - there is no limit to human capabilities.

10) The game has a HUGE number of various glitches and shortcomings. Less than Sacred and Dungeon Lords, but that doesn't matter. The main and most terrible glitch is in act 1, DRYAD EXILE COLONY. Save your game before going there. There is a grandfather - the Schoolboy of the Azunites, who is attacked by plague dryads. In some cases, after killing these dryads, the scholar DOES NOT GIVE THE NEXT STORY QUEST. If in your case, after killing the dryads, the grandfather still shouts "Help me, young one!", You need to load the game before this battle. If you saved the game after killing the dryads, and grandfather did not give you the next quest, you can delete this character and start a new one. In this regard, TIP - make backup copies of your saves as often as possible (they are located in the MY DOCUMENTSMy Games folder).
10.1) Less dangerous glitch, but also very annoying. Make sure that after each spirit you free, an inscription appears in the corner about the number of remaining spirits. There was a case when I freed the spirit, but this was not counted in the quests. Reboot helped.
10.2) Non-critical glitch, but sometimes appears in the main storyline. After the caves of Kytraya in Act 1, you must destroy the Soul Shard. After it is destroyed by a ranger from afar (using POWERS), sometimes the quest is not protected. But the Azunite scholar lets you into the portal and they give you a new quest, so the story continues. Fixed by reboot.
10.3) A very rare glitch. I had 1 time and I don't know what caused it. The left mouse button in the inventory refused to work in the game (things were not taken, etc.). Fixed by expelling all party members to an inn and hiring again.

Elfinit_ElessaR, again, it all depends on your preferences and it's not at all critical with whom you run 1 act. What matters is which game you finish the SECOND ACT with! As I already wrote, by the end of Act 2, you must have 4 different characters. When playing as a battle mage, it would be wise to take Lothar first, but Deru is in no way inferior in importance to him (the main thing is to save up 500 gold for the first expansion of the party). When you have accumulated money for 4 party members, it is logical to join Taar, and then the party will be completely ready for adventure by the middle of Act 1!
For the chosen leveling, it NATURALLY does not make sense to scatter skills on something that you will not use at all. Therefore, since a necromancer is needed, then skills should only be poured into Grim Necromancy, Vampirism and Debilitation. But as soon as the 3 main POWERs of the necromancer: HARVESTER OF SOULS, ENERGY ORB, CORROSIVE ERRUPTION become 3 levels (maximum), and it will be about level 50 of the character, I recommend thinking about further pumping, which by level 50 you will come up with yourself, I hope. About Taar. Also for an amateur. Personally, I have Taar rocked on EMBRACE. Experience is accrued to all characters for that skill and that attribute that is selected as active. That is, the character can choose the main active spell, for example, TELEPORT. Then the experience gained for killing monsters will be credited to the character in NATURE MAGIC + INTELLECT, EVEN IF THE CHARACTER DOES NOT ATTACK MONSTERS, BUT JUST STANDS NEAR. 1. Beam of the grave. Hits one target quickly. 577-1729 damage from 10 meters. Mana cost: 38.
2. Soul peak. Strikes at normal speed with a direct beam. Whom struck - take damage. 684-2050, 10 meters, 77 mana.
3. Pierced. The speed is lower than that of the spear. Hits an area with a small radius. 642-1926, 8 meters, 195 mana.
