Controller's prayers.

After completing the quest to kill the chimera (I associate it with this, but maybe this is not so) on Zaton and moving from Zaton to Yanov, a controller, two burers and from 5 to 10 jerboas will spawn behind the station. All together they go to the Volkhov air defense system, the latter are aggressive and attack at the first opportunity, and the counterman returns to the route after two attacks and, upon arrival, sits down in the center of the air defense system on his knees and either depicting a prayer, or laying something on the ground from the void. After getting up, it bends in the back and starts to attack if you are close or just wander around.

Does anyone have an explanation for this phenomenon?
