The genre and title of the game is confusing

At first I thought it was soulslike and skipped it because I don't like Souls at all. And the trailer of the game and the description of the materials convinced me that this is soulslike.

But when my friend suggested I play it, I found it to be more like Devil May Cry 1-3 and God of War 1-3, games I would like to play (I really hate God of War 2018 in many ways, but I love playing God of War 1-3 on my PS2 and PS3 consoles).
