Can a motherboard throttle the GPU's memory frequency?
I bought myself a video card with a PCI-E 16x 3.0 interface, a GPU frequency of 1110 MHz, a memory frequency of 5000 MHz. GDDR5.Aida shows the GPU frequency as it should be 1110 MHz, but the memory frequency shows only 2500 MHz. The
motherboard I have is MSI p45 neo2-fr. there PCI-E 16x 2.0
Question: is the motherboard strangling the video card? or is it something else?

Everything is fine, as it should be.
Aida shows the real memory frequency multiplied by 2, that is, only half of the effective frequency of 5000 MHz.
5000 MHz is the full effective frequency of GDDR5, that is, the real 1250 times 4. The
motherboard cannot "choke" the video card in terms of frequencies.

And now calm down, take a deep breath, relax your buttocks, exhale and play calmly, without obsessive thoughts about how the components of your system unit "strangle" each other.
