To get the latter, you need to search the ruins of the fortress on the rock. The rock itself is located on an island through which the bridge leads, but the bridge is raised and how to lower it xs ... There is no other way to climb the rock into the ruins except for the bridge. There are no other entrances like underwater caves either.
