Playstyle Variation (A Plague Tale: Requiem)

Has anyone tried to complete the game without killing? Does it really affect the plot? I'm not strong in stealth, so the game takes place in pure meat, the heroine and characters are constantly whining, they say you're so bad, you killed a doher of the people this and that.
