Problem with saves when playing through a cloud service (Kenshi)

I play through the cloud service
Started with game version 1.0.51
When loading saves, only the characters disappeared and gave an error:
This save is missing zone files. This will likely cause issues such as missing player buildings.
I have not been able to find a solution to the problem. As a result, abandoned the game to the new version.
There is already version 1.0.55, but the same error pops up again, however, I found advice that you need to disable steam cloud saves, this helped relatively, the error stopped popping up, but the characters do not appear when loading the game.
I tried to make several saves to load one of them and tried to transfer the game - it did not help.

What could be the problem and how to solve it?

The peculiarity of the cloud service is that it saves files with saves when you exit it, and I also do not have direct access to the game files in order to change something myself. Also, when I checked, for some reason I did not find the occupied space in the steam cloud, although it was turned on.
