S2 RU GOG: Throwing Knife Hit Crash (Silent Storm)

Russian GOG version of Operation Silent Storm, latest.
A patch has been applied on top to fix the crash on the final mission (I once dug it out for the Steam version, I keep it on hand just in case). Plus all 4 official mods are active. NO more modifications (no DLLock for modern screen resolution, nothing at all).
Campaign for the Axis.
In the party, all four engineers (Kenku, Axel, Clover and whiner) + Gary.
Main hero Scout in throwing. Voice #3, model "expensive suit + preset muzzle with mustache", perhaps this is important.

Problem: with some small chance, when a throwing knife (which is an ordinary piece of iron without a braid on the handle) hits the enemy, the game crashes silently. For ~50 throws - two crashes.
For some reason, there is no such problem with shots, grenades, mines and explosives.

I tried to google - for the first time in my life I saw a Google notice "please specify the request."

I rummaged in Memory - I have never seen anything like this in my life.

There is a suspicion that this is one of my characters trying to utter a line - and for some reason it does not work out.
Testing is long and dreary, it's easier to score on throwing melee weapons and hope that it won't happen again.

But, just in case, I'll ask: you didn't come across anything like that?
