Literally 5 minutes ago I too was puzzling over the same question. Tried almost everything (except for meteorites, gems and bones - they were simply not at hand): processed from different kinds of stones to sticks and without the use of instruments.
In the end, I found the answer.
Spoileron was icon (?) refers to the trunk of the baobab tree and its fruit hanging on a branch a little higher. I picked the fruit, examined it, opened the basalt cutter, again inspected, and then was able to eat it.
It's simple.
