Explain the ending (The Council)

I don't understand the whole game, I was trying to protect Sarah (the mother's) even killed Mortimer a real spear (Even after passing tested his innocence). However in the final, I wrote that Sarah de richer disappeared. The thing I? It still killed? or kidnapped? Or they just decided to disappear from sight. Somebody explain (who knows) what happened. Or that you need to do for the other ending?
