No strings Ladder Character (Diablo 2)

Good time of day. When creating a character there are only Character supplements and Hardcore character. This is as it should be or am I doing something wrong? At the entrance to robattle button Ladder is not available, in gray. Diablo II LoD 1.14 pirates.
