Cinematic frame + FPS (Shadow of the Tomb Raider)
Know that not everything is love movie stripes, but I like this effect, especially if it gives a good increase of FPS. So someone is this simple way can be useful. In Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider this effect gives a triple benefit.
1) actually own the movies
2) increases FPS by reducing the screen by 20 %
3) extends the zone of visibility
Not all the games you can set your own aspect ratio (in this case, 16x9, change to 16х7,2) and even in those that can, the result may not please you, for example, the picture will be stretched and distorted.
In these same games the vertical viewing remains the same, but increases the horizontal review, making the picture prettier, at the expense of more detail on the screen.
Changing settings in the registry (Win+r --> regedit)
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareCrystal Dynamics\Rise of the Tomb Raider
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareEidos Montreal\Shadow of the Tomb Raider\Graphics
accordingly
change the Fullscreen parameter to 0
UserWindowHeight 360
UserWindowWidth 780
(numbers in hexadecimal system, the actual resolution in game is 1920 x 864)
You can also choose any other resolution, and aspect ratio, I give an example of classical FHD)
To disguise the aconnect resulting (in fact the game in a window, while on the other hand still uses the entire width of the monitor) you can just:
1) open a black picture on the entire screen
2) to hide the control panel (Windows settings)
3) color of window title to make black (Windows settings)
Sounds dreary, but when you know how to do it, just takes 20 seconds, I think it is not critical
In the first screenshot General view of the display during the game (Yes, see the title, but I don't mind him. If you interfere, maybe it can be removed, or make the text color to black. I have not tried)
The second difference of the same point in the game at resolutions of 1920x1080 and 1920х864
