Replacement for 1080 980 Ti Ti

A question. To assemble and hardware is not particularly whisking, although able to replace none.
There is a computer, assembled three years ago in the housing SilverStone FORTRESS FT01B. Filling:
-Intel i7-6700K 4.0 GHz
-motherboard ASUS Z170-K
-vidyuhi GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6144M ASUS STRIX
-power supply 850W Cooler Master Silent Pro M2

The bottom line: is it possible in such a configuration, it is stupid to replace the 980 Ti 1080p Ti, nothing else is changing, and enjoy all the benefits of the new card?

The graphics card is disassembled at least once?
Maybe there is already thermal paste all dried up, and the pads have hardened...
And so, thermal paste 500 rubles, 300 rubles pads, disassembled/assembled accurately and it is possible that the graphics card is second life will find.

I have a card too, generation 9 ,are kind of in the region of 4 years ,this year replaced the paste ,the temperature dropped from 82 to 78 in the peak ,but this is the most to the high value that slips ,so it works depending on the games 70-76 ,I like sootvetvstvuet test measurements .
You have like the exact same problem ,as already mentioned in this thread ,replace the paste and pads and norms
If initially warmed ,it can the body circulation is poor?
get a picture of the case with the lid open and show where the blow air flows ,there may be cases on 2-3K for a couple of coolers and paste well or kraynyak 5K on a new building
