Wolves (The Long Dark)

Hi all. Here is the deal, bought the game, started the campaign mode, in the middle of the second episode I realized that wolves don't attack at all. Even if you directly go to them, just whine and run away. Like and should be happy, less problems, and to play something as boring because of this. Could this have something to do? Or need to start passing again?
