I once had a conversation with a random character around a fire who told me a story about three brothers and a certain treasure. Three brothers stole the gold, did not divide it among themselves, one killed the other two, hid the gold and killed himself, and left the path to the treasure in the form of marks on the trees. I myself did not find any treasure or marks, but once, on the loading screen, I saw a tree with a mark, although I did not recognize the area in order to go and look. So this mark may be from a story about three brothers, or not. It is also quite possible that the story is a reference to the cut-out quest, like a poster for the quest for the princess in Van Horn.
