What does the parameter \"runes\" in mascots call for onions? (God of War (2018))

The mascots for the bow three parameters: the damage runes and stun. With damage and stun all clear, but what effect the runes,is unclear.

As I understand it, is elemental damage, roughly. At atreya is the flash and light (depending on which arrow is selected), the Kratos cold (axe and its runic attacks) and fire (swords and his rune attack).
