Studio Zoetrope Interactive loves the work of Lovecraft. After graduating with a duologue Darkness Within, after a long silence, they released a new project, Conarium.

What is the Conarium? It lavrovska adventure game inspired by "the mountains of madness" and telling about a research expedition that went to Antarctica in search of the abandoned cave cities, and of a mysterious device Canarium. The main character – Frank, comes to life on a research station Upuaut, his memory lapses, he doesn't remember what happened to the expedition and why not a soul around. With him we have to find out what was happening, and to deal with "incredible discoveries"!

It should be noted that Conarium this is adventure, not horror, as it mistakenly identified some online gambling sites, although the item "the ultimate invention of Lovecraft horror" in it, of course, there are (albeit not "scary"). The very same game mechanics are more simple than in previous Studio projects – there are no complex puzzles and detailed exploring. However, local riddles are not bad, they are seamlessly integrated into the setting of the game and the special raises no objections. But exploring have a claim in the first place is too conspicuous "selective interactivity", when the same type of objects it is possible, it is impossible to interact with.

In General, the game is "average". And it's not even that it feels and looks a bit clumsy and budget, and that it is too formulaic and predictable for anyone familiar with the work of Lovecraft. But if you are not familiar with, you can bypass the Conarium party, because its target audience is clearly not you.

The result: a mediocre compilation on the subject of the works of Lovecraft.

and I very much liked it! The atmosphere is addictive, and I wanted the game to end! For admirers of Lovecraft by the Way, the mountains of madness is a kind of continuation of the story In the tale of the adventures of Arthur Gordon Pym

Quest on the eternal theme of Lovecraft. Love, remember, sometime awaken.
And if it was just a story on the topic, it would be quite good, but for some reason made the whole game.
It turned out badly. Intrigue is no special, the plot is not much, some vague ruins on the topic of the Old Gods and the Brady glukonatom about expansion of consciousness and the third eye. Somehow the old Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth played a hundred times more interesting.
And we should try whatever the game is on the Unreal Engine 4 looked poor. That is to see in the game just not on that.
And it would even play (though only to fans), if it was some kind of twist. Here in Outlast there is an interesting interweaving of mysticism and science fiction, in Aporia: Beyond The Valley of the unusual presentation of the plot, in a relatively good Amnesia story and the atmosphere, in Layers of Fear and well-made the levels even though the action in one house.
But here... nothing special there. And if not for the world of H. p. Lovecraft's myths there wouldn't be anything at all.
