E-Mail from home office: what's the difference?

Work in College, 2nd shift from 2 to 11, techniques. After 6-7 hours of complete calm, the lessons in the evening very rarely. Allow yourself the flexibility to leave early sometimes for 1-2 hours.

We have a rule at work, at the end of the shift to write a brief report about what you did, what happened, etc. at the postal address of our office. Usually do this from home, but came a new Manager and requires writing a report at the end of the shift from office. Manager leaves in 4-5 hours.

Question: can a Manager to determine where the written letter from the office or from home?

P. S. I Understand that it is not good to leave early time, but there are certain problems with health, which I would not like to share with the management.
