LGA 1151 / v LGA 1151.2
Hi all.Have on hand an Intel Core i5-8400 2.8 GHZ and motherboard GIGABYTE Z370 HD3P
And here actually a question: are they compatible?
Just how much looked everywhere it is written that for the CPU the right socket 1151 v2, and 1151 on the motherboard, but the processor is listed as supported on the official GIGABYTE website, but the doubt is still there. Consultants in the store recruited through an ad and even a vague answer can not give.

that's exactly what the online stores say the v2, but on the box itself just 1151
I was therefore in a stupor and stood up
The official website says that supports, but then the question. if cofffe lake under 1151v2, why he supported 1151, though everywhere write about the opposite. what to look for?? guys, really need help.

And the link you showed shows the list of supported processors. All of them under the socket 1151-v2. Just gigabytes too lazy to finish 1151-v2, stuffing a new Board in the already existing site section 1151.
