strange Danish knights (Medieval 2: Total War)

I noticed on the opening picture of the game strange Gothic knights, who sit on Danish horses(on the horse blanket, the coat of arms of Denmark). But nowhere in the game nor on the sites description of units I couldn't find them. Tell me, what are these knights?
