What is the meaning of blessing? (The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind)

The presence of Veloth - written increase magic by 10 points. So where is the increase I have as it was 50 magic number and left. Accordingly, the intelligence is also 50. So what's the point of these 10 points?
