Impressions of the game (The Town of Light)
The theme for impressions of the full game. Many developers like to raise the issue of mental hospitals, but not everyone is trying to give his creation a realistic, documentary-based. The Town of Light is a project of the independent Studio LKA, based on real events.
First, let's define the genre of the project. The average gamer, looked at the screenshots or watching the teaser, most likely will take the game for a new horror about a mental hospital, and it will be his mistake. The Town of Light is a project closer to Dear Esther, a sort of contemplative research of art-a game in which we "go-see", immersed in the atmosphere and trying to understand the story of the main character. There is minimal interaction with certain objects. The plot moves through the notes and "flashbacks", and also contains a fork, though leading to a single final.
The project raises serious and adult themes. The atmosphere of an abandoned mental hospital passed well, if you like similar subjects – the more likely you will be satisfied. But the shortcomings of the game, unfortunately, is. First and foremost is the technical disadvantages associated with the optimization, animation and General "clumsiness" of the game. Secondly, the game still turned out good places. Though the ending hardly someone will leave indifferent.
Total: the project is of average quality, which can be recommended to those who like the themes of mental illness, asylums, and of course searching for the answer to the question "what is truth and what is illusion."
