Negative Camber (Need for Speed (2015))

It is possible in NFS 2015 collapse\convergence or not? And then just the introduction of negative camber it would have affected both in terms of controllability and in terms of appearance.

Menu appearance settings. You can change the clearance, removal wheel alignment

Possible but does in the game gathering collapse does not affect the control of the machine.

Thank you. So maybe even better.

Camber is the angle of the wheels relative to the road surface when looking at the car in front. If you draw an imaginary line through the center of the wheel perpendicular to the road, it would be zero camber.

If the wheels on the upper side directed inward("house") is negative camber.
If wheel top side outward is positive camber.

THE EFFECT OF CAMBER ON THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CAR

The values of collapse for sports cars usually are within

...-0,5 -5,5 degrees

What are the pros of this:

In the turn of the vehicle body to roll, thereby creating a positive camber and reducing the area of contact of wheel and road. The negative values of the camber will compensate this effect. As a result, more grip and more stability in the turns.

— Negative camber on both wheels that creates extra stability on the straight because the wheel is badly disintegrated tries to roll sweep inward(like a cone rolling on a circle around its vertex)

— When you turn the inside wheel is unloaded and sometimes even completely rises, thereby allowing the supporting wheel even more to get the car inside the turn.

Negative camber has its disadvantages:

— Increased wear of the inside edge of the tire while driving straight.

— The instability in the acceleration and braking in a straight line(because the area of the contact patch is small)

Based on the foregoing, engineers are looking for a compromise and try to keep the camber around -0.5 degrees in a turn with compressed suspension.

It would be ideal to have the wheels set perpendicular to the road under all conditions. But compared to racing on a regular civilian vehicles that are harder to achieve due to the softer suspension with large strokes, creating a great roll when cornering. Also plays a big role in tire wear for a normal car it needs to be economical, and the racers can afford to buy tires more often(at least I wish it was :) )

CUSTER

CUSTER is the longitudinal angle of the axis of rotation of the wheel.

This is the line passing often through the upper and lower mounting points of the rack.

Positive caster is when the axis of rotation of the wheel piled high in the back of the machine, when looking at the car from the side. This configuration creates a stabilizing moment that returns the wheel to its original position and for facilitating rectilinear movement of the car.

HOW CASTER AFFECTS HANDLING
The more caster is biased towards the positive, the more stable the car will be straight, but even more will increase the force on the steering wheel when turning.

In addition, when turning the inside wheel will lift the car, and the external lower, thereby creating a lateral roll, which is not desirable.

CONVERGENCE

Is affected mainly by 3 parameters: tire wear, straight – line motion stability and handling on corner entry.

Convergence is the angle/distance between the direction of motion and the plane of rotation of the wheel.

Negative is the toe when the wheels look in different directions during movement.
THE IMPACT OF CONVERGENCE ON HANDLING

In civilian vehicles using toe to compensate for the curvilinear effect of wheel rolling at the camber angles other than 0, so that the tire wear was minimal.

For acceptable play with the toe in order to change the nature of the drivability . For example, you can add a little negative toe for the front-wheel drive car, this will help to compensate for its tendency to understeer.

Is necessary to avoid excessive values of the convergence, since much negative toe will wear the inside edges of the tires, and Vice versa – with very positive will be heavily loaded outer edges of the tire.

Sometimes the effect of the friction of the rubber against excessive toe-in is used to maintain the operating temperature of the tire . If the slicks warmed up enough in the corners, and cool on the line, to ensure better grip and achieve a good result you have to zerowaste resource rubber.

Another polozhitelny effect of this – because of the constant friction of the tyres remain cleaner providing better grip under braking and turn-in.

The convergence can be adjusted and the rear wheels . The effect of this is usually the same as on the front axle.

Convergence happens static and dynamic.

The fact that the movement of the wheel alignment can change – it depends on suspension kinematics and compliance of the connecting joints.

For example – during acceleration, the drive wheels will start from the road surface and to strive forward to a positive convergence . In civilian cars for the sake of comfort use softer rubber bushings/silentblocs – so the variance is more than a sports car.

SUMMARY

As you can see, wheel alignment is critical for handling your car and safe drive . So, if possible, we recommend you to use the factory settings or those that you checked as a starting point to further adjust the handling after the installation of the suspension . Invest in new quality suspension and not to make accurate adjustment of corners of installation of wheels – it means to waste money, because you won't be able to feel all the difference .
