Digital download games GfWL. Is it possible?

I have a few games on disks with Games for Windows Live (with the keys). Can I download them digitally using keys without resorting to installing from disc, if discs something happens (lost, broken)?

On the Xbox website there is a section for PC Games. From the name change nothing has changed - the same eggs, only in profile. Besides, now Rockstar has rolled out its on Humble bundle. So, for Episodes from LC there are NO steam-ONLY GfWL-key. In particular I'm interested in how this key to download the game and if I can do the same thing with the key from the drive.
