Q: the Game won't start, gets out an error: Engine Error Available memory less than 128MB!!!...

A: This error occurs in Half-Life 2 (particularly in the original version) if you have 4Gb or more of memory (for example, in x64 OS versions)
To solve this problem, we need a HEX editor (hexadecimal editor, for example WinHEX).
Open the editor file: ..\bin\engine.dll. Next, look for a sequence of HEX numbers: 3D 00 00 00 08 A3 1C 76 50 20 12 model 7D and 7D to EB. Save the edited file.

Win 7 x64 (8 GB RAM) when you run the error about 128 MB of memory, but after included compatible with Windows XP everything went fine.
