Impressions of the game (DARQ)
The theme for impressions of the full game.My impressions:
New 2D horror puzzler, created by independent Games Studio Unfold. The main character of the project DARQ is closed inside a series of nightmares. How to Wake up? Where sleep, where's the reality? In the best traditions of LIMBO, the developers do not give answers, and give the player the opportunity to interpret the "dumb" story of the game.
One of the main chips DARQ – the ability to walk on walls and the ceiling, thus inverting the location upside the head. Looks really interesting and relatively original. In addition, the solid part of the local puzzles and brainteasers tied to the use of this feature. The second feature of the game is the horror element. With her came not really. Usually the local monsters slowly March up and down the limited area of locations and the hero must be hiding in a strictly defined "stash" and wait until they pass by – not the most exciting activity not scary at all. There are of course exceptions, for example, the solution to the puzzle maze on the background of the approaching monster in a wheelchair or a creepy room with the masks. But in any case, unfortunately, the atmosphere of the game is noticeably inferior to the same LIMBO, INSIDE or last year's Little Nightmares. And the puzzles the game is less creative than the above projects.
However, despite these claims, DARQ successfully passed a night or two and leaves a satisfactory, good aftertaste.
