Thaler Dead? (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

Hi all. A question. Here in our beloved third Witcher is a very interesting character Thaler, familiar to us from the books and the first part. But there is one point in the first part, like in the third or fourth Chapter we have a choice: to side with De Vetta (the knight of the flaming rose) or to stand on the side of the Thaler. If you stand for De Vetta, we KILL Thaler. If you transfer a save from the first part to the second and then from second to third, that will affect whether our solution from the first part to the third? And how will it be played?
