Can't leave the lab at the end of the mission, when you exit goes a long download and then the death of Geralt. Maybe someone was?Try to download the developer console and enable god mode. For me personally, this was not.

Strange, when I read about such things.. Went a couple of times BEFORE on the pirates, then a zillion times on the GOG version, which is regularly updated with patches, once already managed to almost pass in the GOTHIC version - never nothing like this had happened...
