Question about old RPGs.

The people waiting for the translation for nier.Decided to play old RPGs found the bard's tale.Who can say on the game.Is there a sane plot,interesting gameplay.And if anyone can advise a couple of games.The Baldur's and Neverwinter has been up and down.
