And the question is whether this Script Extender is required for the normal functioning mods?

For some mods, it is not just necessary, but vital. :-) This should definitely be mentioned in the description for the fashion ...
But the point is surely that the Script Extender for Four, still rather weak, and the version of the extender and the game should be the same ... Fashion, also made under a specific version F4SE. So ... problems. :-)
Need to follow updates mods, extender and keep your nose to the wind. :-)
