The human brain (which is part of the eye) unconsciously picks up the difference in the image refresh rate up to 300 Hz. Consciously a person can distinguish the difference in the refresh rate to 150 Hz. Up to 80 Hz most people after a workout can determine the moving-picture eye on this frequency with an accuracy of +/- 10 Hz. Above 50 Hz is the area of psychological comfort in which the person is not experiencing irritation from intermittent movement.
