Background music of the game (Bloodborne)

Hello. Recently started playing Bloodborne and noticed that the background music only plays in battles with the bosses and in some special locations, such as a Dream hunter. Is it supposed to be? To run Arnau here and there without an escort of good saundtreka very boring and tedious. All the same?
