Look for mother H,B,Z on 1151 with support for ddr3.percent support
As an example

normal Mat boards with support for DDR3 then no.
so this means the entire platform including memory.

Clarification - minimum DDR3L (low voltage memory), not purely DDR3, if you take a third, then it is necessary to pay attention to. CT102464BD160B for example, 1.5 volts of three-pointers, DDR3L at 1.35.

I personally like this config: Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2 / Intel Core i3-6100, 3700 GHz / DDR4 Crucial CT8G4DFS8213, 8192 MB Radeon RX 460, 4096 MB

Mother and percents is the most simple, and good, better DDR4 already available, because I remember in those days, or dear nurse was under DDR2 or impossible to get 8 gigs as 2 to 4 DDR2, I had to spend money on anything to replace.

Officially, intel has no support DDR3 (1.5 v) , only DDR3L(1.35 v) and DDR4(1.2 v) , such voltage can burn the memory controller. But the motherboard manufacturers think otherwise , making under DDR3 motherboard , they work fine. Personally, I doubt that DDR4 Skylake is required , more marketing.
