Sprint, melee (Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3)

All kind time of day. Question: during a sprint on the top right POPs up a message saying click and hold LMB during melee combat or do a somersault. Neither the attack nor roll not work, why???

Sprint clamped LKM and the hero kills the enemy with a knife with a running start.
