Remember the wonderful times in the early to mid-two-thousand, when licensed games were opened using key generators? There's even nice music playing. It seems that these times come back.
An unknown hacker group SteamPunks managed to bypass the Denuvo protection in Dishonored 2, and the bypass is made very interesting way. It is not modified executable files, as in cases c works CPY or ВАLDМАN, a license generator, almost the good old keygen.
How this generator? Don't have the slightest idea, but it really works - this are several of the discussion participants on cs.rin.ru. Is it safe in General to run a generator? Unknown.
While it has some issues: it is reported that the code generator functions are used, which allow to send data to the remote server, a code itself is highly protected from analysis. At the moment no one can say for sure whether sewn into the generator any malicious features.
