Error Please enable Direct3D acceleration (Postal 2)

If you do not run older applications associated with the error message that the type you are not running 3D Acceleration or DirectX is corrupted, and the app requires an older version of DirectX, but 3D acceleration is enabled and you have installed the latest video drivers and updated DirectX, then try using this registry key:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Direct3D Drivers
SoftwareOnly=hex:00

(via space-separated names of folders as they should appear in the registry, because of the stupidity of the rules of the playground)

p.s. This fix will also help to run old applications if they did not work. For example games such as Hitman Contracts, IGI 2 etc.
