To change a player with pace problem (NBA 2K17)

I have PS3 NBA 2K17 in the NBA TODAY earlier at the pace I started to play for the player who received the ball at pace and now I continue to play for the same player, just without the ball and so on throughout the entire match I play for SINGLE player. What to do?
