Compatibility

Going to buy a new video card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and faced such problem: I have a motherboard ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 and it only supports PCI Express 2.0 and the graphics card is PCI Express 3.0. The question is,will the video card work if it to connect to my motherboard? And if so, how large will be the loss of performance?
