I personally always wanted to run a mount for some map from CS and fill up
a dozen other monsters. And then came the moment when I decided to realise an old dream in bsp-file =)
This work was created for the competition Half-Strike on the forum cs-mapping.com.ua.
Is a singleplayer remake of my favorite official CS map de_storm from FLiPMoDe|Daank.

Download mod on the site, referenced above (ragged-yukoz, use Ghostery or Adblock), there you can find both single card Arctica2.
Mod one card, your code does not contain all the required resources included (unpacked size is 19 MB, 9 of them are proper map, and the textures she uses from Vodnikov the BSP sewn only NULL). The textures and the sky, of course, taken from de_storm, there are new sounds (the menu also plays music track, judging by the tags, borrowed from C&C2: Tiberian Sun), a new sprite, a couple of models. Also the author of some reason has slightly changed the textures, weapon models, in particular, the color of the suit with the orange changed to green, and a bluish tinge revolver — black (in my opinion, nothing happened, although the difference is not immediately apparent). Green made and boxes of shotgun ammunition, and even the bullets and shells (noticeable when firing and reloading). The author why-that has generated a. res file, although the card is single-coil (. res file is needed so the map is downloaded from the gaming server, the client has received all the necessary resources for it), I even just in case check whether the map of spawn multiplayer players — but no. The author also edited sentences.txt apparently to drown out the suit, as well materials.txt to the interaction with two brushes: reproduced an adequate sound effects.
de_storm personally I've always liked, and it was really interesting to see the single coil mod in this style. As can be seen from the description, the mod was created for a contest and won first place. Not seen the other entries, but I suspect that the place has deservedly received. To the credit of the author it is worth noting that he was able to copy the original brushwork and design, but also to develop it by adding something from yourself. The author did a good job not only on design but also sound. Thunder, and from time to time, the card light flashes of lightning (the lightning here the author for some reason did not...). The author has even changed the sound of steps — at first very unusual, and I want to freeze in place and turn around to see who it was making that noise :D
The resulting atmosphere resembles horror (though the real horror is perhaps considered mod impossible), the moment I even have thoughts about They Hunger.
Of the shortcomings (although as anyone) that the duration: mod of just one card, but a large and slightly confusing. I think for the first time, if you play, studying the nooks and crannies and looking for secrets (there is!), it will take at least half an hour, and already knowing the map, you can quickly run her fifteen minutes. Play easily, ammunition is more than enough — it is necessary to look closely at the corners — so I do not recommend to play on easy difficulty levels. Opponents act kstovskii creature (Kheda, vorta, grants, inspectors, bullsquid) and zombies. From the weapon mount (well where without it), pistol, shotgun, revolver and crossbow — however, it is possible that I could miss something, the author showed imagination, hiding the weapons and ammunition. Breaking boxes, by the way, there is no reason, or I have not found such. In my opinion, long light boxes (like the one in which lay the crowbar) you could make brittle (for example, did the author of the maps aim_storm and aim_storm2 with the same style).
It is worth noting that the gameplay is not only brave, there are traditional arms, and even castles that you want to look for the keys.

In General, I believe that the remake was more than decent, recommend. If you put the scores that I would give it probably a 9/10 (considering the fact that this is a remake of one card).

Below are a few screenshots — I was playing in Software mode (that's another plus fashions, it is 100% compatible with Software, at least I have not noticed any problems), so I hope you don't mind grafona in squares :D Low fps (I forgot to turn off the counter), too, because software (overall, the mod is quite playable even in this mode, even on my, by today's standards an ancient PC).

Besides fashion, other works the author has no. There is another map Arctica2 (available for download on the website), but it is very tiny (only six monsters and weapons one shotgun; I even flew noklipom, but found nothing), and nothing outstanding on it: the design is mediocre, a strange sprite of snow, is that an interesting model access cards (but it is just hanging in the air, not even spinning), which is needed to open the gate, which is only a dead end.
