How to play with a huge sword? (Dark Souls 2)

Run with regular long sword, but I want to run greatsword Pursuer from the category huge swords and even sharpened it a bit, the damage is good, but not very convenient to fight enemies, play only PvE, tell me the tactics and what equipment is better suited.
