Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge and the BIOS
Hello, help to understand all this, and especially in the BIOS. Now is the old mother MSI H61M-P21 (MS-7680) with as I already knew, horrible socket 1155. It is the same ancient percents I3-2100 Sandy Bridge. Since the budget I have is very small, decided to update the percent on Intel Xeon E3 1230 V2, aka Ivy Bridge and later to buy a video card that is not defined and not understood, but it would be 1660. As I understand it, for Xeona, you need to update the BIOS, processor yet, but the BIOS and decided to update. Naturally, my Board stood the very first version. Was able to upgrade to 17.6, and then go version 19.0, 19.1 and 19.2 of the last. And of course, to 19.0 I could not upgrade, got error problem allocating bios buffer. In patchnotes to version 19.0 is written - Update BIOS for IvyBridge 22nm CPU. And the question is how to proceed. It updated when I remove my old Sandy Bridge and Ivy put? Or what could be the problem? Spent all night with this whole thing is already stupid mind is not enough, what to do next.Sayman95 wrote:

Most likely Yes, if the motherboard supports this processor - problems should not be. You can write to tech support on the website and to clarify there, or buy the CPU with the agreement on the return. But if the seller has the ability to bring to it his motherboard with one working RAM module, to assemble the stand and check advance writing to flash firmware, taking her with him.

A controversial issue. Once I changed фх6350 on фх8350. Just do not remember what a mother was, but in the support of the manufacturer I was assured that the mother will work with фх8350. The same thing was written in the specifications of the motherboard.
Is listed change the I percent, stick and what you see work it works, only under the slightest load the frequency drops to a minimum

Well, if we talk about the percent that I want to put a lot of reading and reviews and other reviews and many put it on the mother, as I have, and like all works. Of course, maybe it's silly to start from reviews, but still... Normal my socket is still there in my budget

Normally it 1060 downloads like the 580, it's almost like a i7 3770. The truth is his limit for today.

I wrote, updated the BIOS to a certain version and know how to update, and the latest version doesn't want. Why did you give me the user manual with the stick painted

And the instructions for upgrading above 17 read ?
It appears you have a problem with memory allocation to write the new BIOS
Short necks don't do it...!
* Please download and execute the file in USB pen drive only.
System will restart several times to update ME firmware after updated system BIOS.
Please DO NOT remove the USB pen drive until ME updated successfully.
* Please make sure you have read the SOP before you update the BIOS.
* MSI recommend you to update BIOS with ME8 only if you are using IvyBridge 22nm CPU.
* It is not possible to reflash back to ME7 if you already updated to ME8.
**Please reinstall driver after updating BIOS with ME8.
OS: Windows 7
OS: Windows XP
