Early 3D graphics in indie games- what do you say?

Now in the indie games extreme popularity of pixel art, or rather, of being a her, which is all fed up. On Steam we see a huge number of projects that put these graphics as something special, and get as good ratings or negative.

I suddenly became interested to know your opinion: how would you react if, in some abstract successful indie game was the graphics in the style of, say, the first Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Deus Ex. After all, once we've played these games and somehow did not complain about bad graphics.

I have to say: I don't know much about game development to accept the obvious fact that indie developers may have the means to make a full game on CryEngine, so do not swear. And the fact of the game on nostalgic feelings of the players too.
