Well, if you're talking about pure eight, you can be. And here 8.1 the experience of a year I personally think the most stable. With XP I got back in 2011 when I saw the problems with Skyrim.

For starters, the GeForce GT 640 should sell/take to the Museum/to the office/to burn in a fire/give to homeless people on the street and buy a graphics card. Then install Windows 10 completely. Then everything will work well, I guarantee it.
