Cards So, briefly on frequently asked questions. How to start playing on the Playground.ru server? To play on our server, you need to create an account. Click on the Create New Account button, read the rules, agree with them (Agree) and come up with a username and password. Then enter the created username and password and go to the server. Installation To play on our server, you need the full version of StarCraft: BW version 1.16.1. Connecting Now we need to tell StarCraft where our server is located. To do this, you just need to install the desired key from the Registry.

Start the game, select the PlayGround.ru server in the Battle.Net menu, click BattleNet and connect to the server.

Where can I get more help?
If you have any questions about StarCraft, please visit the StarCraft Forum.

What is the IP address of the Playground.ru server?
Name: Playground.ru
Zone: 3
IP: playground.ru

Where can I download Star Craft?
Star Craft can be downloaded here (it is patched to version 1.16.1 and does not require a mini image).

Where can I download maps?
The maps can be downloaded here.

What do you need to host games?
Have an external IP (if you don't have one, you can buy it from your provider.).
Full Internet access to the game (set up a firewall).
Open port 6112 (you can open it in the same firewall).
And if you do everything right, then you will be able to create games and players will be able to join you,

I do not see the games created, what should I do?
There are 2 reasons for this:
1. Your version of the game is lower than 1.16.1 (patch 1.16.1 can be downloaded here).
2. The most common reason is that there are simply no games created.

What ports do I need to open to play on your server?
In general, Star Craft uses port 6112 when playing over the Internet. But it is also recommended to open ports 6113 ... 6119.

Why is it lagging?
The game lags due to the quality of the connection between the two machines (players). Moreover, the decisive role is played by the continuity (failure-free) of the connection, and not its speed.
Lags can arise due to the considerable distance of the players or the peculiarities of building a network between them.

I have internet but can't log into Battel.net?
Most likely, ports 6112 ... 6119 are closed on your network. Go to the administrator and ask to open them, but first of all check if your machine has a firewall that blocks these ports, so first try to configure it or disable it.
Ports can also be blocked by your ADSL modem operating in router mode. Manuals for setting up modems are found on the network.

I enter the Battel.net chat, but I cannot enter the game or create? The Create and Join buttons are grayed out.
And before entering the server, a sign appeared, where there was something about port 6112 and UDP
If this has not been on your machine before, try to re-login to the server.
The main reason is that your port 6112 is open for TCP packets, but cannot allow UDP packets. The ways to solve the problem are similar to the previous question.

What protocol is used when playing Star Craft over the Internet - TCP or UDP?
When chatting on the channel - TCP, and directly in the game - both.

Why do I have a pretty low ping (up to 100) when registering the / p command, but it lags terribly in the game?
Let's start with the fact that the / p command shows a ping to Playground.ru itself, and not to the host you are playing on. It is the quality of the connection between you and the host that plays a role in what kind of delay you will have and whether it will lag during the game. Therefore, only ping to this very host is important. And in general, the ping itself is not an indicator of lags. Ping is just an indicator of delay (delay) in the game. And the lag rate is the percentage of packet loss when transferring data between you and the host.

When I patch the game, I get the error "Registry error loading key 'Starcraft InstallPath". What should I do?
It swears that the path to the game folder is not registered in your registry (namely, from there the game update program takes information about the Star Craft installed on your computer). Therefore, you need to register it. You can do this using the AWC program (see where to download it here).

I have a dial-up internet connection (via 56k modem). Can I host?
Yes. To do this, you need to follow a simple procedure:
Click Start> Connection> look for your Internet connection, right-click, select Properties
In the window that appears, select the Additional tab, then uncheck the Protect my Internet connection
box. This should be done with the Internet disconnected and before that do not forget to disable the firewall or open the necessary ports
Note: If after that you will see windows with advertisements under the guise of errors, you must disable the Messenger Service in the administration.

Can't create or proxy problem. I'm making a game, but they can't join me. Why? How to fix?
For all this you will need:
1. Star Craft: BW 1.16.1
2. What thread is a server manager (for example servaqmanager or bnetgatewayeditor)
3. Internet I
explain how to do this if you have an Internet through a proxy:
there are programs that. allow you to "trick" proxies using a tunneling system, i.e.
through open ports we connect to the game server. One of these programs is HTTPTunnel and HTTPPort3snf1
I describe the last program: there, in the second tab (Proxy), write the proxy address of the proxy: I do not advise you to touch the port of the rest of the fields .... the
third tab (Port Mapping) connects the ports:
in "local port" we write 6112 (6113)
to "remote host "we write the address of the game server (for example playground.ru)
in" remote port "we write 6112 (6113),
in principle, you will not have to touch any more settings ....
in the second tab, click the" old "button => load the server manager (see . above) =>
there we register the ai-pi address 127.0.0.1 (tunneling occurs through this address) => we
load the old man => from there we select the server with the address 127.0.0.1 and that's it

Can't create or proxy problem. I'm making a game, but they can't join me. Why? How to fix?
The concept of proxies used by Starcrafters really has nothing to do with the problem of making a game. You can read what is a proxy here. The proxy inscription in the description on Battle.net is nothing more than a delusion of the author. It is more correct to write cant create (I cannot create).
In fact, you can't create because of NAT (read the article on the wiki).
PlayGround.ru
As shown in the figure, packets containing data necessary for playing over the network should be transmitted between all players without any problems. If somewhere the packets are not allowed "beat", then the game starts braking lags twitching, the units move with an interval of a second or two or even more.
This can be, for example, if both players are sitting behind NATs without portmapping (what Starcrafters call proxies, the name is incorrect, but stuck).
A user behind a NAT can only create outgoing connections, if two users are sitting at nats, then they cannot directly connect to each other in any way. Lags in the game take place when one or several players leave and packets are transmitted between all the others without large delays at a speed acceptable for the game.
When someone logs into the game, it sends a packet on UDP port 6112 to the game creator. If the creator cannot accept the packet on this port (sitting behind NAT without portmapping), then the visitor will see the infamous "Latency to game creator is too high" window.
Solution to all problems with NAT:
- Configure port mapping on the router (so that packets to an external SP on port 6112 UDP are forwarded to your computer on port 6112). To do this, you need to contact the owner of the router.
How to set up portmapping is described on PortForward.com. Choose a model, then a game for which you need settings. A page will open with a detailed description of how to configure the modem. If your modem model is not there, look for similar ones, the settings may often coincide.
- If the previous method does not work, because the provider / admin will not deal with this, the solution will be to obtain an external IP address from the provider. Or changing the provider to a more sane one.
Portmapping consists in creating a static entry in the NAT correspondence table, according to which packets arriving on a specific port are forwarded to a specific computer on a specific port. Roughly speaking, you kind of bind the router port to the IP - PORT of some computer on the local network.

How to determine why it is not allowed on the server?
For Battle.net, it was
not just your IP address that could be banned, but the range in which it falls. For example, local networks with a lot of bnet players are banned. Perhaps, this is how the blizzards are struggling with the sharing of Starcraft / Warcraft in LANs ...
For PG
1. IP-address
If it throws it back to the list of servers - ipban (the connection is established and then immediately terminated).
If it freezes on the accessing account - the server crashed or again ipban
2. Account
If it does not start up the account and says:
bot (topaz chat) and star - wrong password - forgot the password.
bot - has no bot access, star - wrong password - lockacct admin.
with a bot - it won't let you in, with a star - let it in - someone was sitting on the server under your account, or you got discouraged and the server thinks that you are still on it.
To see what topaz chat writes, you need to enable the log and check the log incoming events checkbox, then look in the log file.
If it enters, but then throws it into the void, the ban on the channel will pass after the server is restarted.

Periodically, the Star Craft palette is enriched with awkward colors.
This happens with some video cards. They say even Korean pro gamers. Temporarily fixed by exiting to Windows (Ctrl + Esc) and returning back to the UK. No solutions have been found.
Also, sometimes there is a strange bug with the chat in battle.net: with the alt + tab, the game is not completely minimized, but something like the transition of Star Craft to windowed mode happens, but at the same time the borders of the window and many elements are not visible. There are no known ways to return to a normal view, and you have to close the game.
