Impressions of the game (Beyond Blue)
The theme for the experience of the game. The other day passed. What can I say?
The game is from the independent studio E-Line Media, inspired by the research activities of the organization OceanX, dedicated to the study of the ocean and actualizing the modern problems of the underwater world.
As a girl researcher Mirai, the player explores the depths of the ocean and the creatures living there. In this he is helped by an "advanced" underwater suit, which allows scanning the inhabitants of the ocean, as well as specially created drones (for closer study). At the same time, the plot beyond Blue revolves around the observation of a family of sperm whales, which were supposed to have a "recharge". In addition, the developers have tried to raise the current environmental problems.
In general, Beyond Blue is a quiet, sometimes meditative project about the study of underwater locations. The life of the main character is not in danger - you can not die in the game. In his research, the player will visit the "paradise" atoll, and the open ocean, and the impenetrable darkness of the ocean depths. By the way, the ocean depths turned out to be moderately "atmospheric."
But with the attempt to add "drama" to the plot - the developers did not come out very convincing. However, the main problem Beyond Blue - it's similar tasks, monotonous gameplay in general. Scanning the underwater "living" as a secondary gameplay element adds interest to the study, but as a main one, it quickly cools. The situation could be corrected by various drones, but they are implemented boring and inconvenient (the essence of the same scan, only with inconvenient management). Other elements of the game, such as the election in dialogues, various "lights" for the surrounding underwater world, etc. - are made simply for a tick and do not bring any practical benefits.
Despite the above, Beyond Blue is still not a failure. It has a certain spirit of "discoverer" and the gameplay, though the same type, but still gives the player a small relaxation effect - especially hot summer or after a hard day's work.
