Catafrachts are slow, expensive, they would still have to reach, and equestrian archers even running to cut inconveniently ... the average cavalry is something like a Roman auxiliary cavalry or Carthaginian "long shields", fast enough, able to chase, shred enemy shooters and beat the rear infantry and cavalry of the enemy.
As I said in one of the topics, Armenia is one of the best factions in the game! Yes, at first it will be tight, but Aormeny does not go into the red, so there is hope to survive)
How to win:
It's very simple. First, we capture the southern cities of the Seleucids (but not those claimed by the Egyptians - otherwise the war will devour the entire budget, and maybe Armenia itself). Then Hapayi Parthian cities - they will not go to minus (because they are connected with other territories). All this time we hire cheap local hireds.
Having strengthened, we go to the West - to conquer the Pontian kingdom. Egypt, until we conquer at least two extreme Pontine cities, do not run! Then, having assembled the largest army possible, we capture (by that time 90% Egyptian) Antioch. We protect to the last drop of blood, like Stalingrad in the 2nd world! Then we capture the remaining Pontian cities and expel the Greeks from the territory of modern Turkey) By that time Armenia should already be one of the strongest factions) It is still possible to make an alliance with Macedonia against Egyptian-Greek aggression - sometimes helps.
Voila! The Armenian Empire is ready!

I play again for the Armenians. It's very very interesting. First we capture Fraaspa and Arsakia, then gain a little strength to capture Selevka and Souza, and then Hatra. By changing all horse archers to shooting catofracts can be attacked on Pontus by former defenders of the fatherland equestrian archers. Take all Asia Minor and Rhodes. I like Parthia more. I do not understand why Armenia needs archers of catafractory, whether it is the catafractory unfinished, or horse archers remade!
