Optimizing Fallen God (SpellForce 3)

Only recently I found out about Soul Harvest and Fallen God, downloaded and installed both, Harvest flies at 60 fps, and Fallen God lags at 20 fps in the main menu. What could be the problem, can anyone tell me? Curve optimization of the latter? Or have you brought in some effects for top-end video cards?
