A bug with cartridges or a feature? (Cyberpunk 2077)

Hello!
SMG and assault rifle use the same ammo type. Is this even a bug? This should not be so, it seems to me.

And light machine guns too. 2077, no matter how, technical progress does not stand still. And 237 years later, after the events in Cyberpunk, the cartridges will be ONE for absolutely all barrels, according to Dead Space 3.
