Rise at Dawn (The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim)

Foolishly started this quest, but I don't want to say goodbye to vampirism at all, and the quest hangs in the journal and infuriates (I don't like it when the extra nasty stuff hangs in the journal). Is there a way to fail this quest, or cancel, or complete, but so that the progress of vampirism remains?

you can pass it, and then get infected with vampirism again at Serana
